Events
IIDEA – the association representing the videogames industry in Italy – will host a digital B2B event on September 21st in order to publicise and celebrate the territory’s rapidly growing esports sector.
The event is open to all and can be accessed on Twitch: www.twitch.tv/roundonegg.
Round One aims to become a benchmark for the esports business in Italy. It will do this by fostering market development, raising its profile with brands, media and institutions, and providing a professional foundation as the sector matures.
The one-day digital event is packed with expert spokespeople from the international and domestic esports ecosystem, as well as heavy hitters from the world of brand marketing.
The 2020 Nielsen Report on Esports in Italy will be exclusively revealed as part of the programme.
Thalita Malagò, IIDEA Director General commented:
“Since 2019 IIDEA has represented the main esports ecosystem in Italy as part of its mission to create favourable conditions for the development of the sector – and this includes publishers producing competitive games, tournament organisers and teams.
The 2020 Nielsen Report is key to informing our representatives and their business partners about the scope of investment opportunities within the esports sector in Italy. We hope that esports is a positive news story for the Italian sector in a year which has been tough and extraordinary for us all.”
Tommaso Mattei Consulting & Research Leader at Nielsen Sport & Entertainment South Europe added:
“Esports is a fast-growing phenomenon with a unique fanbase; our role is to support this growth with established metrics useful in helping the sector development and in allowing a growing number of brands to understand the potential of esports. We are delighted that our esports market assessment can be revealed at Round One, providing IIDEA and its partners with clear and empirical evidence as to the size and scope of the market in Italy.”
