British Esports All-Star Rocket League Showdown 2021

24th-30th JulyLast year, British Esports kicked off its first-ever All-Star Showdown. It featured 12 teams competing fiercely to prove their worth in a double elimination battle for glory over several days of hard-fought games. Ultimately, even though they came from the qualifiers ‘Don’t Panic!’ (now Luxinate) were able to take the final victory from the reigning champions ‘Sunderland Seers’. After over a year of competition, it’s time to see which teams come out on top.

In spite of all the difficulties the world has faced with the pandemic, we hope to celebrate the end of restrictions with a bigger, better and more inclusive tournament. We have a revamped format and are opening up the showdown to 4x as many participants in comparison to last year.

The purpose of this showdown is to give the top teams in the champs a place to duke out rivalries from the season, take on new opponents from the other divisions, and ultimately take home the glory that comes from winning this exclusive tournament.
The All-Star Showdown will be a 10-team main event. There are 6 teams who automatically qualify for this year’s tournament – the 4x semi-finalists from the 2020/21 Rocket League Student Championships in Division 1, as well as the 2 finalists from Division 2.

However – there is a qualifier precursor event that will allow up to 32 teams to compete for the remaining 4 slots, so this will undoubtedly be the hardest-fought competition we’ve had yet.

The qualifiers will feature some invited teams based on their performance in the championships so far, as well as some open slots where teams can apply to compete. Open signups will become available on 15th June, along with an accompanying video to explain the format. Teams will be required to verify themselves as a legitimate ‘champs eligible’ team.

All players must be part of a school or college in the UK, and provide their school email addresses, as well as a member of staff at that school to be considered eligible. Stay tuned for more information.
