British Esports CEO Chester King on Radio 5 Live

British Esports Association founder and CEO Chester King spoke about the size and growth of esports on BBC Radio 5 Live yesterday.

The BBC has been covering esports this week, and were running the story regarding rising esports revenues and how they’re expected to hit $1.5 billion by 2020.

Chester educated presenter Tony Livesey on how esports works, the types of games played and the success of Intel’s recent Extreme Masters tournament in Katowice, Poland.

Chester founded the British Esports Association last year, after receiving authority from the UK Government to establish the association.

Chester has a 23-year background in traditional sports, with Stoke Park (owned by International Group) running the pre-wimbledon tennis event The Boodles, as well as working for the Football Association, Lord’s and the Rugby Football Union.

Chester also founded The eGames initiative, a separate international medal-based esports tournament which ran its showcase in British House alongside the Rio Olympics last year.
