The tension is growing now as the British Esports Championships spring 2020 finals approach. Who will emerge victorious?
Our school and college liaison officer Alice Leaman looks back on last week’s British Esports Championships quarter final matches from March 9th to 13th and lists the first semi-final fixtures below.
League of Legends
Here are the results of the quarter finals:
- The Thomas Hardye School 0-1 Alsager School
- Art of the Int Lincoln College 1-0 AGSB Esports
- CONEL 2 1-0 Studio Spitfires
- SDC Gravity 0-1 Hills Road BDC
You can see who will face-off in the semi finals here and below:
Rocket League
There were some very close and tense matches in our Rocket League quarter finals! The results were as follows:
- Queen Marys College2 1-4 Seers 1
- Basilisk 1-4 AGSB Esports
- The Ferrers Esports 4-3 Marling Matadors RL
- DON’T PANiC! 4-2 Felsted School
What. A. Series! The team won the first 3 games, then Matadors started to show up, they won the next 3 games. So it’s game 7, going into overtime and @RubidiumRl scores the goal that knocks out the Matadors and sends us to the semi-finals! Well played! pic.twitter.com/iWQXK470df

Following a close call between Carmel Overwatch and Farnborough Peregrines, the Peregrines came out on top and move forward into playoffs.
Finally, last year’s grand final winners Seers have not lost a map yet in group H! Will they continue to be undefeated in the elimination stage?
