UK retailer GAME has announced a new Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare grassroots tournament which will take place in its new BELONG competitive gaming centres.

The Arena Clash Spring 17 season will get underway from March 11th 2017 and run for five weeks. It’s sponsored by Activision and will be open to teams of four players.

Participants will be able to enter at five of the new BELONG Arenas in Bristol, Gateshead, Hull, Manchester and Portsmouth.

There’s a £1,000 prize pool for the Spring season, with a Summer 17 season to follow.

The winner of the tournament will receive £500 and qualify for the bigger CWL Birmingham tournament, plus travel and accommodation costs.

There will be a draft tournament first, with winners qualifying for the Arena Clash tournament proper.

The tournament is open to UK residents aged 18 and over.

GAME said in a statement: “The BELONG Arena Clash is the first step for aspiring esports players to test their skill.

“Teams and players can register to take part in their local BELONG Arena Drafts where they will compete with locals to determine their seeding for the full BELONG Arena Clash season.

“Once the Drafts are finished the real fight begins, players will rally behind their Arena Tribes and face off with rival Arenas from across the UK. The winning teams will be rewarded with thousands in prize money and the bragging rights that come with being the best region in the country.

“The Arena Clash is open to anyone, just head down to your local arena and sign-up to enter the drafts!”
