The Vainglory Spring Championship takes place at London’s O2 this weekend, and on Saturday May 20th a special seminar is being held to help students learn about getting an esports career and meet key players from the industry.

The organisers behind Vainglory are offering a handful of students the opportunity to find out how to break into one of the most exciting and fast growing entertainment industries: esports.

Esports is a billion dollar industry that is watched by millions of people around the world – and you don’t have to be a professional gamer to get involved. There are hundreds of jobs ranging from development, marketing and production (see British Esports’ career advice hub here).

Super Evil Megacorp, the makers of the number one mobile esport – Vainglory – are hosting the Spring Championships at Building Six at the O2 Arena on May 19th-21st. The live professional gaming tournament will see the top 12 teams from Europe and North America compete.

Starting at 11.30am on May 20th, a handful of students will be able to take part in an exclusive backstage tour where you can find out exactly what it takes to put on a tournament of this scale.

Students will also be invited to take part in a seminar with key players from the industry.

There will be a range of spokespeople available to talk to, from the CEO of Super Evil Megacorp through to tournament producers and marketing and graphic design professionals. There will also be more talent available including shoutcasters, a lot of whom came through the National University Esports League (NUEL). Find out how they got their chance to be in the spotlight.

Only 25 spaces are available at the seminar. Please register your interest and the sectors you would like to find out more about. Each student will also be given access to each day of the tournament.
