About Student Champs
Developing the next generation of esports talent in the United Kingdom and shaping the players of the future.
Player Progression Into National Representation.
A dynamic catalyst and springboard for aspiring esports talent in the UK, the Student Champs serves as a launchpad for the development of amateur esports athletes, propelling players towards national representation on the global stage.
The Student Champs not only help shape the current generation of amateur esports talent throughout the country, but contributes to the rise of a new generation of esports stars seeking the pinnacle of national representation in the global esports arena, alongside a digitally savvy, future skilled workforce.
Building Tomorrows Leaders in Games And Esports.
As the growth of the Student Champs has elevated competitive gaming throughout early education, it has also served as a vital platform for developing a range educational qualifications and vocational learning within academia.
Establishing a bridge from campus to career, the Esports BTEC from Pearson has been tailored to the demands of esports and digital skills development, offering students a structured pathway to explore esports, delve into the intricacies of competitive gaming and acquire the essential knowledge relevant to a career in the digital and creative industries.
From early learning in Leaderships Skills Qualifications to Higher and Further Education with the BTEC in Esports and our exclusive university level partnership with College of Esports, we’ve pioneered the gamification of academic studies and classroom dynamics to meet the future demands of employability.
Raising The Game For Esports In Education.
Schools and colleges across the UK have become hubs of both competitive gaming and holistic learning, but the Student Champs isn’t just about victories, it’s a catalyst for cultivating crucial life skills.
From strategic thinking and problem solving to leadership, communication, and social awareness, students embark on a transformative journey that goes beyond the digital screen.
When combined with the Esports BTEC, the Student Champs helps blend cross curricular studies in business, creative media, and sport, breathing life into academic scenarios and offering participants real world industry expertise.
Pioneering Pathways: Nurturing the Roots of Esports.
Launched in 2016 to address the absence of structured amateur esports in early education, the British Esports Student Champs has evolved to become one of the leading competitive gaming tournaments in the United Kingdom, embraced by schools and colleges throughout the country.
With over 200 institutions participating weekly, including 1,200 teams and 3,500 students, the tournament has since increased its games roster and redeveloped its structure to accommodate its remarkable growth.
Now featuring more diversity and inclusivity initiatives, alongside regional splits, all complemented by an augmented number of divisions and brackets, the British Esports Student Champs is the definitive competitive gaming platform for aspiring esports athletes in early education.
