Don’t miss British Esports at these upcoming talks and events

Staff at the British Esports Association will be speaking at a host of upcoming events and conferences.

On Thursday March 2nd this week, British Esports founder Chester King will be talking at the first Esports Congress in Katowice, Poland. He will be part of a panel discussion alongside former athlete and Minister of Sport adviser Ziemowit Ryś, and Marek Kofin, the representative of the University of Silesia’s sports law team.

The President of Katowice and the Marshal of Silesia will also be present.

And on Monday March 6th, Chester will be giving a talk at the SMMEX International conference for brands and businesses, taking place at Wembley Stadium. At 2.30pm Chester will be giving esports marketing masterclass, talking about how brands can crack the competitive gaming market.

Also next week, on Wednesday March 8th, Chester will be taking part in a ‘Video games: good, bad or misunderstood’ debate. It will take place at Blackpool & Flyde College at 11.30am and be streamed live on Twitch.

The debate will aim give a balanced view on video game, from negative references via news reports and positive aspects from the educational and entertainment worlds. The debate will also include a parent organisation that shows the benefits of playing video games from the social and family perspective.

Later in March, British Esports will be a part of BBC’s ‘State of Sport’ project from Monday March 20th. Chester will speak about various topics, and may be a part of an audience for a debate at Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester on Friday March 24th. The debate will likely start at 2pm and will be broadcast on the BBC News Channel later that evening.

On May 9th and 10th, British Esports advisory board members Ceirnan Lowe (caster) and Chris Mead (Twitch EMEA partnerships director) will be talking at The Telegraph Business of Sport event, which takes place at the BT Centre in London.

This annual event ‘aims to steer the UK sports industry to growth, innovation and collaboration’ and brings together 200 senior influencers – from brands, rightsholders and broadcasters, as well as innovators in the field of sport.

Elsewhere, back in February (28th), British Esports content director Dominic Sacco was interviewed by pupils from the Edinburgh Academy school about esports (pictured). They are producing a BBC School Report, a project which motivates 11 to 16 year olds to make and broadcast their own news.
