Location: Onsite Sunderland

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week (includes weekends and bank holidays as required).

Reports to: Senior Vice President.

Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 per annum

Purpose of the role:

Responsible for overseeing engagement, delivering strategy and British Esports activities on social media, through implementing content strategies (as defined by British Esports objectives).

Specific duties: 

  • Responsible for overseeing British Esports engagement on social media channels (including, but not limited to; Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitch and YouTube), through implementing content strategies (as defined by British Esports objectives).
  • Develop social media content with the aim of increasing brand awareness, customer engagement and a best-in-class social media experience. 
  • Work with other stakeholders in creating user-facing resources and captivating content (blogs, articles, FAQs, posts and multimedia content/video).
  • Responsible for planning and maintaining the social media calendar of British Esports and associated projects. 
  • Work in conjunction with the Senior Vice President to set relevant social media metrics/KPIs.
  • Analyse engagement data across all owned social media channels and provide monthly reports. 
  • Knowledgeable in optimising SEO, algorithms, keyword research and analytics.
  • Identify trends in customer interactions, drive actions through insights, determine efficacy and areas for social media campaign improvement using skills in data analysis and interpretation of statistics.
  • Help define and maintain community management strategies, including methods for engagement, moderation policies, content building, and other outreach initiatives on behalf of British Esports and its partners.
  • Participate in and help develop community-facing activations including digital-events, contests, live streams and live events to build lasting relationships and advocacy amongst our community. 
  • Identify key influencers and leverage these community members to help promote British Esports.
  • Inspire community conversation and self-moderation to ensure the discussions are safe and respectable places for our fans and partners to participate in. 
  • Maintain day to day engagement across all social media channels, ensuring responses are prompt and in line with British Esports brand values.
  • Provide solid copywriting and editing skills suitable for each platform, with an understanding of how to write a successful tweet with an effective tone of voice, to creating ad hoc social media graphics when required.
  • Stay up to date with all the latest social media trends, specific platform features, emerging digital technologies, gaming and esports. 
  • Establish yourself as a thought-leader within social media to other stakeholders throughout British Esports.
  • Ensure all content maintains the brand standards of British Esports and associated projects (inc; Student Champs, NEPC, GEG, etc.).
  • Attend specific meetings and present detailed information e.g., Advisory Board Meetings.
  • Regularly attend and promote esports events in the UK where required.

  • Actively uses social media platforms such as LinkedIn for business networking and industry updates.

  • Maintain the highest standards of personal presentation and organisation.
  • Undertake any other reasonable tasks allocated by the management.
