About British Esports

Established in 2016, British Esports are the national body for esports in the United Kingdom.  As one of the world’s leading esports authorities, we are the recognised member of the Global Esports Federation for Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and founding member of the International Olympic Committee Esports and Gaming Liaison Group.  

From nationwide amateur grassroots competition to cutting edge esports curriculum and national representation on the global stage, we’re dedicated to increasing levels of esports awareness, improving esports standards, and inspiring future esports talent.

Role Overview

British Esports is in search of a Volunteer Content Writer to play a pivotal role in creating engaging and informative content focused on amateur grassroots esports, its synergy with education, and other related topics. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring writers passionate about esports and its educational potential to contribute to the growth of esports throughout the UK.

Role Requirements

• Strong passion for esports and a keen interest in the educational aspects of the industry.
• Exceptional writing skills with the ability to craft engaging, accurate, and informative content.
• Proficiency in conducting research and gathering detailed facts and information into compelling written pieces.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
• Prior experience in content creation or writing is preferred but not mandatory.

Specific Duties

• Produce high quality written content, including articles, blog posts, reports, and educational materials, centered around amateur grassroots esports and its correlation with education.
• Research and gather information to create insightful and informative content that resonates with our audience.
• Collaborate with the content team to develop content strategies and contribute fresh ideas for engaging esports-related topics.
• Ensure content aligns with the British Esports Federation’s standards and objectives, maintaining accuracy and relevance.

Policy and Procedures

• Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures.
• Comply with statutory and company health and safety policies.
• Attend weekly/ monthly departmental meetings as required.
• Ensure annual appraisals, job chats and job reviews and appraisals are completed in line with company policy.
• Attend meetings and training as required.
• Ensure regular and appropriate communication with other departments to maintain a courteous and professional relationship.
• Attend work punctually.
• Maintain the highest standards of personal presentation and organisation.
• Undertake any other reasonable tasks allocated by the management.
