Esports Wales
Growing support for the development of esports and gaming in Wales, from amateur grassroots tournaments to the professional careers.
Global Competition. Olympic Recognition.
Esports Wales was formed in 2018 as a response to the growing popularity of esports in Wales and around the world. The organisation’s primary goal is to support the development of esports at all levels, from grassroots to professional. Since its inception, Esports Wales has been instrumental in raising esports awareness through a variety of tournaments and events that engage the local community.
Esports Wales has also established itself as the national esports body for Wales, managing the Welsh Esports Team in various international competitions. By providing a platform for players to showcase their skills and compete at the highest level, Esports Wales has helped to elevate the profile of esports in Wales as a legitimate sport.
“One of our goals is to get Wales into as many national competitions as we can. We want to show that Wales can compete on the international stage.”

Empowering Welsh Esports: Local Talent Development.
Esports Wales aspires to champion the collective interests of esports enthusiasts, from aspiring amateurs in grassroots esports to the pinnacle of professional level play.
Committed to fostering an environment of equality and personal fulfillment, Esports Wales mission centres on the development, promotion and oversight of esports practices.
Delivering local Community Cups, the Welsh Masters as well as participating in multiple tournaments to develop and promote Welsh esports talent, Esports Wales also provide the Esports Wales Academy, focused on youth and community development through esports enterprise and employability training.
Showcasing Welsh Esports Talent.
Esports Wales boasts an extensive tournament history, with its players actively participating in various renowned competitions. From the Esports Cup of Nations alongside Esports Scotland in 2020 to the Commonwealth Esports Championships in 2022, Esports Wales has competing internationally for many years.
Among the standout esports athletes from within the Welsh scene are Tadpole, renowned for his stint at Wolves Esports before transitioning into a coaching role with Resolve Esports, and Breezi, a prominent esports athlete with experience at Excel Esports, Team Singularity, and 00Nation.
Both have carved their names in the Rocket League community, earning widespread recognition for their contributions and skill.
Commonwealth Esports Gold Medalists.
Esports Wales’ most defining moment came when they emerged victorious in the Commonwealth Esports Championships in 2022, winning a gold medal in the Rocket League Open competition, a silver medal in eFootball women’s alongside bronze in the eFootball open.
Marking a significant achievement for the Welsh esports community, the team’s success was the culmination of years of hard work and dedication in the esports space, and the victory demonstrated that esports can be just as competitive and rewarding as traditional sports.
