The British Esports Association will organise a dedicated grassroots community event as part of the Global Esports Federation’s World Connected Series 2021.

The Global Esports Federation announced the staging of the World Connected Series 2021, an event celebrating competitive gaming, following the successful inaugural edition in December 2020.

The first events of this year’s WCS will be held from March 26th 2021, with top matches streamed live on the GEF’s Twitch channel on April 10th-11th.

In addition to the community-based world connected series events, the GEF will be hosting the second edition of GEFcon – the Global Esports convention on April 9th 2021.

British Esports, the national body for UK esports, will organise a community tournament featuring Valorant as part of WCS21. The tournament will take place on April 3rd-4th 2021 and be open to all players in the UK aged 16 and over.

The tournament will feature teams of five in a single elimination bracket with all matches being best-of-one until the finals, which will be best-of-three. Matches will begin at 12pm on Saturday and Sunday.

The prize pool will be a total of £500:

  • £400 for 1st place
  • £100 for 2nd place

Matches will be streamed via the British Esports Twitch channel from 12pm. Broadcast talent is to be confirmed.

The World Connected Series is inspired by the GEF values – equality, fair play, diversity, inclusion and innovation.

Get involved with the global event by using the hashtag #wcs21 and #worldconnected on socials.
