President of the Commonwealth Games Federation to speak at Esports in Education Summit

Nottingham, UK, Tuesday 21st June, 2022 – British Esports, the not-for-profit organisation and national body set up to support grassroots esports in the UK, would like to welcome Professor Andy Miah to the speakers list for this years Esports in Education Summit, scheduled to take place on Thursday 30th June 2022, at Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies, Nottingham. 

Furthermore, the Esports in Education Summit will feature a Special Guest Video Address from Dame Louise Martin, DBE, President of the Commonwealth Games Federations.

“We are delighted that the Commonwealth Games will be formally partnering with esports for the first time this summer when we stage the inaugural Commonwealth Esports Championships in Birmingham. It is fitting that the inaugural Commonwealth Esports Championships will be in Birmingham due to huge interest in esports across the UK.” said Dame Louise Martin, DBE, President of the Commonwealth Games Federation. “The British Esports Federation was established in 2016 to promote esports in the UK, increase its level of awareness and inspire world class future talent. It has been hugely successful in this area thanks to the leadership of Chester King and his team. We believe the Commonwealth Games and esports can partner to create an inclusive, progressive and visionary future for the entire Commonwealth. Through our engagement, our future is more exciting than ever.”
