British Esports advisory board member Carleigh Morgan talks esports on Radio 4

Carleigh Morgan, PhD candidate at King’s College London and member of the British Esports Association advisory board, appeared on BBC Radio 4 this morning.

Carleigh did a good job of dispelling some of the common misconceptions of esports, and offering advice to Radio 4’s typically older demographic that perhaps aren’t as familiar with esports.

Carleigh Morgan is a former Fulbright scholar and a currentPhD candidate at King’s College London.

Her dissertation explores the ‘cybernetic sutures between bodies and machines’, with particular emphasis on the diagrams of legibility that encode gamers as programmable and readable by computer technologies. Pro gamers feature centrally as part of this work.

In 2016 she graduated from the MA in Contemporary Literature, Culture, and Theory at King’s College, London with a Distinction. You can find out more about Carleigh on the British Esports advisory board page here
