Game overview/synopsis

Rocket League is one of the more unique eSports games available; each player has a car which can be driven into a giant football in order to knock it into a goal.

It’s basically football with cars, in a special arena instead of a traditional football pitch. Players can drive up the walls and perform all kind of flips and spins to hit the ball in different ways.

Competitive Rocket League usually focuses on two teams of three, with the winning team the one which has scored the most goals within the time limit.

Rocket League won three BAFTA video game awards in 2016: Family, Multiplayer and Sport.

Game Overview / Synopsis

Counter-Strike is the most popular first-person shooter in the competitive video game scene.

Global Offensive is the latest in the long-running series – an objective-based multiplayer first-person shooter. Players play as Terrorists or Counter Terrorists, and must complete objectives while attempting to eliminate the enemy team.

Players purchase weapons and equipment at the beginning of every round, with money awarded based on their performance. Completing objectives such as planting the bomb, defusing the bomb or killing an enemy earns players money.

A competitive game takes place across 30 rounds, with each round lasting a maximum of 1 minute and 55 seconds. The first team to win 16 rounds wins that specific game. To win an entire match, a team will usually have to win two out of three games, or three out of five games.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) expands upon the team-based action gameplay that it pioneered when it was launched years ago.

CS: GO features new maps, characters, and weapons and delivers updated versions of the classic CS content (de_dust, etc.). In addition, CS: GO introduces new gameplay modes, matchmaking, leader boards and more.

“Counter-Strike took the gaming industry by surprise when the unlikely MOD became the most played online PC action game in the world almost immediately after its release in August 1999,” said Doug Lombardi at Valve. “For the past 12 years, it has continued to be one of the most-played games in the world, headline competitive gaming tournaments and selling over 25 million units worldwide across the franchise. CS: GO promises to expand on CS’ award-winning gameplay and deliver it to gamers on the PC as well as the next gen consoles and the Mac.”
