The annual London Games Festival gets underway this week, celebrating all things video games.

It runs from May 30th to April 9th and includes a host of different events, parties and gatherings.

On the esports front, there’s the finals of a new inter-school esports tournament.

The Digital Schoolhouse Esports Tournament Grand Final will take place at London’s Gfinity Arena on Tuesday April 4th from 10.30am to 3.30pm.

The tournament had some 400 secondary and sixth form students taking part in PS4 Rocket League matches across the country, and now the final four teams will gather to face-off as part of the London Games Festival.

Other notable London Games Festival events include PC gaming and culture event EGX Rezzed (March 30th to April 1st), the Games Finance Market which connects investors with game companies (April 4th to 6th), the BAFTA Games Awards (April 6th), Now Play This, which explores the wider possibilities of games (April 7th to 9th) and cosplay extravaganza the Games Character Parade on April 8th.

London Games Festival is put together by Games London, a partnership between agency Film London and games trade body Ukie. It has the backing of the Mayor of London’s London Economic Action Partnership (LEAP).

British Esports’ content director Dominic Sacco will be attending the schools esports final next week and covering the event.
