We talks with professional caster Ceirnan “Excoundrel” Lowe at the Vainglory Unified Live Championships.

Ceirnan “Excoundrel” Lowe is a professional caster/analyst, working in titles including League of Legends, Hearthstone, Vainglory and Overwatch.

We got to talk to him at the Vainglory Live Championships this weekend and asked him for his tips on how to start a career in casting.

“You never start going full time professional, “Excoundrel said.” I started casting bedroom games that I did just over my solo queue games, or I did it over national university games which is where I found my first inroad into casting.

I think a lot of it comes through your personality, obviously people are born with a natural voice that works for casting, Sometimes you can work around your voice by giving yourself another edge that makes them funny or interesting.

Talk to yourself in the mirror! I spent a year talking to myself in the mirror trying to vary the tone of my voice.”
