Four Award Nominations for Women in Esports at The*GameHERs Awards

British Esports’ Women in Esports initiative and Content Manager, Bryony-Hope Green, nominated in four categories at The*GameHERs awards this November.

Sunderland, UK, Tuesday 13th September, 2022 – British Esports, the national body set up to support grassroots esports in the UK, is delighted to announce its Women in Esports initiative has been nominated in the ‘Aspiring Ally Organisation’ category, at the forthcoming The*GameHERs awards, in recognition of prioritising diversity and inclusivity.

Further to this, Content Manager and Women in Esports Committee member, Bryony-Hope Green, has been personally recognised for her outstanding contribution to journalism and education in esports, with nominations in three categories, including;

• Journalist of the Year
• Cosplayer of the Year
• Generation Esports Top Educator

Voting is now open and available at: https://gamehers.awardsplatform.com.  The community stage of voting closes on the 24th September 2022.

First established in 2019 by British Esports, as part of a wider strategy to develop more focus on inclusivity and diversity within the esports industry , the Women in Esports initiative is designed to prioritise more representation in esports from women and marginalised genders.

ThegameHERs Awards, dedicated to recognizing and honoring exceptional women and/or femme identifying persons across the spectra of gender identity and expression in all aspects of gaming, honors those who make games as well as those who take part in all the creative and technical outlets that surround gaming.  The*GameHERs Awards are scheduled to take place in November, 2022 and will be live-streamed via The*GameHERs Twitch channel.

“I am truly honoured and delighted to be recognised for my efforts to encourage more diversity and inclusivity in all areas of the esports industry,” said Bryony-Hope Green, British Esports Content Manager.  “A large part of my role at British Esports is focused around delivering educational content covering the vast spectrum of roles and individuals in esports, and being in a position to have an impact feels incredibly rewarding.”
