Welcome to the Teacher zone!
This page is for teachers wanting to get their school or college involved in the next season of the British Esports Student Champs.
We’ve put together a step by step guide below on how to approach students and other members of staff at your institution to start an esports team for our Champs.
1. Approach the appropriate people for permission:
Before you start, you need to ensure that your school/college will be behind you starting an esports team for the Champs. After you gain these permissions, you can begin more formal preparations to get involved.
2. Find out who would be interested:
Prior to registering your interest for the next Champs season, you need to make sure there is enough interest at your school/college to get a team together. Do a short survey or poll to get an idea of how many students would be up for competing. You can also use our ‘Student Interest List’ to recruit players.
3. Register:
If your school/college is interested in getting involved in the next season of the British Esports Student Champs in September, make sure you fill out the registration form to create an account, and we’ll be in touch with regular updates surrounding the upcoming season.
Next Steps:
Source the kit
Each game has different recommended specifications for PC setups, which is outlined in the Champs Handbook. Aim to get the kit that fits in with the recommended specification to ensure that students can play well.
Speak to IT
Make sure you speak to members of IT to get your network tested to run the titles – and this is best done before sign ups in September so you know of any issues beforehand!
