British Esports Association chair Andy Payne will be attending an event at European Parliament this week, discussing esports.

The association has been invited to join a hearing titled ‘Esports in Europe: What policy response?’ which takes place this Wednesday (September 6th) in Brussels from 10am to 12.30pm.

For the first time in the European Parliament, attendees will discuss esports regulatory issues and the different aspects of the industry from a European perspective. One panel will provide an overview to the European esports scene, while another will explore European policy and potential changes.

Various people from the esports industry will gather (around 150 are expected), including players, producers, legal experts, the European Commission and the Sports Intergroup.

The likes of Fnatic, Glasgow University, Newzoo, the Esports Integrity Coalition (ESIC) are expected to attend.

Various ministers will also be present, including Spanish, Belgian and French Members of European Parliament (MEPs).
