She was at the networking event to meet and greet attendees, and gave a short speech about the strength of the UK creative industries, as well as announcing a £3m fund to support creative and cultural organisations in the North of England. Esports executives invited to attend included Team Dignitas general manager Michael “Odee” O’Dell and ESL UK managing director James Dean. The Creative Industries Federation said the event featured a mix of people from right across the creative industries sub-sectors, with representatives from across the country and those from both big and small companies. TV presenter Alan Titchmarsh was there, as was comedian John Bishop, among others. Odee commented: “It was really cool to actually be invited somewhere like that. I didn’t think think I’d ever end up there through esports, but I was, so there you go. Hopefully bigger things come from it.” UK Prime Minister ✔@10DowningStreet “Every day our creative industries are flying the flag for Britain on the global stage.” – PM @Theresa_May 433 9:09 PM – May 9, 2018 278 people are talking about this Twitter Ads info and privacy Theresa May said: “Every day our creative industries fly the flag for Britain on the global stage. Every year our creative industries contribute £92 billion to the economy, providing work for more than two million people right across the country. “I am not just talking about the big names, the stars of stage and screen who we all recognise, the sector provides highly skilled jobs right across the board. Technicians, producers, researchers, designers, coders, set builders, make-up artists… the unsung heroes, the people without whom our creative industries would not be the worldwide success that they are.” “Our creative industries really are at the heart of what makes Britain great. The work you do brings joy to millions. It fosters unity, gives us a common currency. It helps to define and build our sense of national character. “Thank you for all that you do. Thank you for all that those who work with you do. And long may it continue.” More tweets and comments Andy Payne@PercyBlakeney63 The Creative Industries are headed to Number 10 today.
