
Global Esports Games Istanbul 2022 - Team Great Britain
The British Esports Federation, the not-for-profit organisation set up to promote and support grassroots esports, is proud to announce that it has selected the 2022 teams and players representing Great Britain at this year’s Global Esports Games (GEG).
GEG took place in Istanbul in December 2022, and saw 11 countries and territories compete for pride and glory. This year’s games included Street Fighter V, Dota 2 Open, Dota 2 Women, eFootball PES and PUBG Mobile.
The4Philzz (Great Britain SFV representative) came home with a silver medal.

Josh 'Bryn' Norris
British Esports has once again enlisted the support of Mark Weller, Esports Team Manager at Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1, as the Team Manager for Great Britain.
Mark commented: “I’m extremely excited for the up and coming Global Esports Games in Istanbul. We have a great amount of talent within our selection, with a significant amount of players coming off of a very successful Commonwealth Esports Championships. I’m hopeful that we can improve last years results from Singapore.”
British Esports has also announced the addition of Josh ‘Bryn’ Norris as assistant manager to Team Great Britain.

Dota Open Fixtures:
Due to their 1-2 loss against Serbia on the 16th October, unfortunately the Dota 2 Open team for Great Britain are not advancing on to play in Istanbul.
Massive congratulations to the team for getting to the playoffs, and doing Team Great Britain proud!
In this first set of qualifiers, the Dota 2 Open team faced off in three matches to determine their spot going forward in the competition. These are the results of the three matches:

After their perfect run in the qualifiers, the Dota 2 Open team were in a good position for the playoffs. They started strong in their first match, but unfortunately were unable to qualify to move further in the competition.

Unfortunately, the PUBG Mobile team did not qualify in their match on the 29th October 2022.
